Kimberly Susko ’97
Varsity Starter Helped Lead Field Hockey to Championships. Kim Susko was in the starting varsity lineup every year during high school, from the fall of 1993 to the fall of 1996. During those four season, she scored 48 goals and made 40 assists to help the team compile a record of 64 wins, 7 losses, and 6 ties. In her senior year, she scored 23 goals and led the team to conference and county championships, a school record for most victories in a single season, and a team ranking of 7th in the state by The Star-Ledger. As an underclassman, she earned a variety of state and local honors and started making headlines freshman year when she scored one of the goals in Pingry’s Somerset County Championship victory. For three consecutive years, she was selected to the 1st Team in The Star-Ledger’s All-County rankings. A highlight of her senior year was scoring both goals in Pingry’s 2-0 victory in the county championship game. To cap her Pingry years, Kim was recognized as “Player of the Week” by The Star Ledger, “Player of the Year” by the Courier News, and Colonial Hills Conference Player of the Year, and honored as a candidate for the All-American Field Hockey team. The Star Ledger recognized Kim as one of the top 10 players in the state by selecting her to the 1st Team in All-State All-Groups. In addition to her achievements at Pingry, she was also a varsity starter at Duke University and participated on local and national club field hockey teams.
