Miller A. Bugliari ’52
Demanding Coach, Charismatic Leader, Sensitive Counselor. Miller and Pingry are inseparable. With his career far from complete, he has already joined Reese Williams and Vince Lesneski as one of Pingry’s legendary coaches. In 1941 who could have guessed that the new second grader with the big smile would become our beloved “Bugs”? From his first year as head soccer coach in 1960, Miller Bugliari has epitomized the very best in interscholastic athletics. Nationally acclaimed as a coach and honored for his championship teams, this motivator of hopeful young players and exceptional athletes alike is an exemplar for all who would inspire our youth. Miller’s teams have compiled a record of 407-56-40 and garnered every accolade imaginable. What does one do as a coach to produce these athletes and teams? The predominant theme reflected by his players is that Miller demands the very best and gets it. He brings his players a special message: believe in yourself, sacrifice, never quit...as your coach I will be happy, and as an athlete, you will reap the rewards...rewards not limited to winning games.
