Rebecca Nazario ’90
Twelve-Letter Athlete Enjoys Record Setting Career. With an extraordinary talent for running and unprecedented speed, Rebecca “Becky” Nazario broke school and meet records. Becky earned an impressive twelve varsity letters in three sports at Pingry which included cross country, swimming, and track. As captain of the cross country team her senior year, Becky led the team to first place in Prep States and second place in the county meet. Individually, Becky finished first in sectionals in 1989 and was Prep State Champion four years in a row. Becky swam for four years and was also captain of the swim team her senior year. In track, Becky was a consistent high scorer and known as a lead sprinter. A member of the mile relay team, Becky helped break the school record of 4:20.3 with a time of 4:16.8 at Parochials. The following year, in 1989, she broke the 60 second 400 meter record with a time of 59.4 seconds. After Pingry, Becky attended Lafayette College, where she continued her successful running career. She ran cross country and indoor and outdoor track for three years in college and earned a total of eight varsity letters from Lafayette. In 1993 during her junior year, Becky was instrumental in leading the cross country team to victory at the Patriot League Championship.
