Warren S. Kimber III ’76
All-State Prep Soccer Team Member Centennial Cup Winner. Warren Kimber has unquestionably distinguished himself as a Pingry athlete, earning nine Varsity letters in three sports: soccer, basketball and golf. His athletic achievements were honored in 1976 when he was awarded the school’s Centennial Cup for his outstanding ability, sportsmanship, spirit and leadership. In 1974, the Varsity soccer team won the Union County Championship and the New Jersey Prep School Championship. Kimber was a vital force, setting a Pingry record with 28 assists in a single season. In 1975 he was named co-captain and led the team to the Union County Championship once again. HIs skill and athletic ability as a soccer player earned him a place on the All-County and All-State Prep teams in 1975. On the basketball court, Kimber was a top scorer, helping his team achieve winning seasons. Kimber was an equally skillful golfer and was named captain for the 1975 and 1976 teams. In 1975 he led the way for Pingry, placing fourth in the Union County Tournament. In 1976 he finished second in the State Prep Tournament. Kimber continued his athletic career at Lehigh and Fairleigh Dickinson Universities. At Lehigh he played Division I Soccer. He continued to play soccer at Fairleigh Dickinson as well as basketball and golf. Kimber remains devoted to Pingry, and has served as an assistant baseball coach and an assistant basketball coach.
